Claritin (loratadine) is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose.
Claritin is used to treat sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, hives, skin rash, itching, and other cold or allergy symptoms.
Claritin is also used to treat skin hives and itching in people with chronic skin reactions.

Active Indredients

CLARITIN Tablets contain 10 mg micronized loratadine, an antihistamine, to be administered orally. It also contains the following inactive ingredients: corn starch, lactose, and magnesium stearate.

CLARITIN REDITABS (loratadine rapidly-disintegrating tablets)contain 10 mg micronized loratadine, an antihistamine, to be administered orally. It disintegrates in the mouth within seconds after placement on the tongue, allowing its contents to be subsequently swallowed with or without water. CLARITIN REDITABS (loratadine rapidly-disintegrating tablets) also contain the following inactive ingredients: citric acid, gelatin, mannitol, and mint flavor.

How to take this Medicine?

The usual recommended dose is 50 mg taken as needed, approximately 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. However, the medication may be taken any time from 4 hours to half an hour before sexual activity. Based on the effectiveness and side effects of the medication, the dose may be increased to 100 mg or decreased to 25 mg.

The maximum recommended dose is 100 mg and it is not recommended to take more than one dose per day. Sildenafil may be taken with or without food, but taking it with a high-fat meal may increase the time before the medication starts working.

Many things can affect the dose of a medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

What are the possible side effects of Claritin?

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these

Signs of an allergic reaction:
• hives;
• difficult breathing;
• swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
• fast or uneven heart rate;
• feeling like you might pass out;
• jaundice (yellowing of your skin or eyes);
• orseizures (convulsions).

Less serious side effects may include:
• headache;
• nervousness;
• feeling tired or drowsy;
• stomach pain,
• diarrhea;
• dry mouth,
• sore throat.

Precautions And Safety Warnings/ Overdose

Before taking loratadine, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to desloratadine; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history. Do not self-treat with this medication without consulting your doctor first if you have certain medical conditions such as: kidney disease, liver disease.

Loratadine does not usually cause drowsiness when used at recommended doses. However, do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness until you are sure you can perform such activities safely.
